We are very lucky to have a great selection of independent, family friendly, cafes which all make use of fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Here are a few of our favourites:
Aroma, Covesea, Wee Links, Lossiemouth 01343 208060
A great spot for a soup, sandwich abd one of their fabulous, mouthwatering cakes
The Bothy Grant Street, Burghead 01343 830006
A great wee café serving delicious home cooked food. There is a camera on the harbour beaming live onto the wall inside the café so you can relax whilst watching the boats come and go! It also has a fab garden at the back for alfresco dining on summer days. Open for evening meals on Friday and Saturday nights. It fills up so worth making a booking. Check out their Facebook page for details.
Harbour Lights, Quayside, Lossiemouth 01343 814622
Lovely café serving tasty, freshly cooked food. Great in summer to sit outside on the quayside and people watch and the perfect place in winter to warm up after a bracing walk along the beach. Open for evening meals on Saturdays during summer months.
Slightly further afield are the following gems:
The Bakehouse, Findhorn, Kinloss 01309 691826
This is situated in the picturesque coastal village of Findhorn. It has its own bakery on site and serves amazing good food all day. Open for pizza evenings on Friday and Saturday nights during the summer months.
The Olive Tree, Logie Steading, Logie, Forres 01309 611733
Café located in very attractive courtyard setting – see places to visit for further details on Logie Steading itself. The café is so popular that it has just had to relocate to bigger premises on the other side of the courtyard!
Househill Courtyard, nr Nairn 01667 452548
Yet more tasty home cooking and delicious baking. Situated between a well stocked farm shop and a lovely furniture shop beside Househill Farm. The children will enjoy seeing the cows in the barns next door!
