Our Ethos
We feel extremely lucky to be responsible for our wee corner of Moray. It is a responsibility we do not take lightly and we are doing our best to look after it so we can pass it down to future generations.
We have an on-going programme of tree and bulb planting as well as putting up more nesting boxes and squirrel feeders to help our resident red squirrel population. We have taken back a 26 acre field and have plans to plant an orchard and wildflower areas and also to restore a natural wetland. We will increase the number of trails our guests can make use of and explore.
We are custodians of the land and actively encourage others to come and explore the grounds of Duffus Estate in a responsible way. As part of this we are proud to be the base for local charity, Earthtime for All’s Outdoor Nursery and Forest School, which enables nursery age children to learn and play outdoors.
Through our work with Earthtime we were delighted to win Scotland’s Finest Woodlands School Award in 2019. Another great local charity, Outfit Moray, also uses our land for some of their own outdoor activities with older children.
We simply ask that if you are exploring Duffus Estate you show other users and the land respect and please take your rubbish away with you.
People, specifically our staff and guests, are at the core of our business and we want both to feel valued and happy.
We will invest in our staff to give them the skills necessary to ensure our guests have a first class experience every time they visit Duffus House, whether to sleep, eat, shop or explore.
We want our staff to be proud to work at Duffus House and to lead the way in providing memorable and friendly customer service for all our guests.
