The Cabin

My new husband and I stayed in the Cabin by the Castle for our honeymoon.  It was somewhere idyllic and peaceful where we could relax and spend time together.  The setting was so romantic, with a sensational view of the Duffus Castle ruins. We were in love with the night-time fairy lights. There were such lovely small details like freshly baked empire biscuits tailored to our dietary requirements!! We were ecstatic!! The cabin was contemporary and immaculately clean.  The bed was really comfortable and the location felt safe and secure.

It was a really unique find and the view was just breathtaking. It was a reasonably priced luxury cabin with a view of a castle! Great booking process! Even when I made an error misspelling my email address they were able to resolve it really easily over the phone.

It wasn’t just a base for exploring, it was a home away from home.  It was a relaxing environment away from the everyday.

The term ‘cabin’ does not do this place justice. It was incredibly well equipped and very cosy due to the excellent insulation. Very tastefully decorated with everything you could need and the hamper of local products was a lovely welcome after a long journey. The location was just perfect, only 4 miles from Elgin but you felt well off the beaten track and of course being situated pretty much at the foot of the ruins of Duffus Castle was very special. Was lovely to pull up after a long drive in the dark to see the lights on for us, a very welcome sight.

We chose the location as we wanted something further North (we live in Argyll) and less busy with tourists than the West Coast, we also wanted just two nights We wanted something different and as ‘eco’ as possible but still with some comforts due to the time of year etc. The cabin surpassed all our expectations.

The cabin itself was amazing, especially nice as it was decorated for Christmas too! It was great value for money too.

Lovely place, very clean, beautiful view of the castle.

I chose to stay here because of the view of a castle. The website and booking process was easy and simple. The best thing about my stay was the view! Stunning! And the lovely touches as it was our honeymoon! A bottle of bubbles and chocs! We also ordered the breakfast hamper which was great! It was good value for money and it was a perfect stay, happily rate it 10 out of 10.

Just a short note to say that we really enjoyed our short stay at The Cabin by the Castle. It is very nicely appointed and what a location! Luckily the weather was also on our side. I just wish I owned it!

This was my third time at the cabin and it was brilliant again. Everything has been well maintained and is clean, there is no scrimping on the welcome gifts and it felt as fabulous as the first visit. So much to do and still discover on the Moray coast. Enjoyed cycling, walking and taking part in the local Hopeman gala.

The website, and the booking process was easy and intuitive. I have recommended it to many friends.

Best bits were our adventuring in the forests above Fochabers and rock pooling on coastal cycle back from Hopeman. Then arriving back to a cosy cabin when the rain started!  Pre arrival I received a fab email form Caroline with all kinds of information about local activities during the time we were staying – Speyfest and the Hopeman gala. Brilliant for planning the weekend. Thank you!

It was great value for money, especially as there were two of us. The space and peace – with some activity around the Kula coffee stop and the castle to make you feel part of what’s going on.
