Delightful cottage originally built for the Estate’s housekeeper and gardener

Kirktoun is a delightful cottage with open country views and within walking distance of Duffus, making it a great choice for couples or for families. Duffus has a shop and play park.

Kirktoun is a surprisingly spacious cottage. The bright sitting room has a lovely restored open fire (with complementary logs from the Estate), perfect for cosy evenings in. It has a large window with garden views.

There is a separate dining room – ideal for long, leisurely dinners with friends or family. The well appointed bathroom is downstairs. The two cosy bedrooms (1 x double and 1 x twin) can be found upstairs. Kirktoun has a good sized, private garden; part of which is enclosed – useful for containing children or the dog!

You might be lucky enough to spot some of our resident red squirrels which live in the woods behind. The patio area is great for summer BBQs or sipping wine whilst watching the sun set on those long, light summer evenings we are blessed to get up here in Moray. There is also a fire bowl for our guests to use to keep them warm whilst perhaps watching the stars or having a wee nightcap.

Duffus Estate has a network of paths, many of which can be accessed directly from the gate at the bottom of Kirktoun’s garden.

A lovely stay at Kirktoun Cottage

We had a lovely short stay at Kirktoun Cottage. It is in a great location that worked really well for us with our dog. There are lots of walks literally out the back gate and we met plenty of friendly local dog owners on our jaunts. Duffus Castle is only 30 mins walk away and kept our grown up kids entertained for more than 5 minutes which is always a challenge. Kula Coffee Hut next to it is worth a trip in its own right and the cottage guest discount card there was very welcome. The cottage itself was clean and welcoming and the bedrooms both a good size.

The Kirktoun Cottage is exceptionally well maintained and clean, and unusually high quality and tastefully furnished. There is also absolutely nothing missing in the kitchen. Location is quiet. Nice ‘Welcome basket’ Caroline with regional products. Thank you!

Lovely cottage in a great location. Perfect size for our group, with a well equipped kitchen & extra space for dining. Super responsive host. Couldn’t recommend this property enough – great value for either a short break or a longer stay in the area. Will definitely be back.

A well presented and stylishly decorated house. It has everything needed for a comfortable stay. A great, peaceful location, with plenty of local walks and close to a variety of amenities.
