Charity of the Year – Outfit Moray
Climbing

Each year we select a ‘charity of the year’ to support. The Duffus Estate and Kula Coffee Hut team have selected Outfit Moray to support throughout 2024. The team agreed that this local charity has a great ethos of community support and environmental stewardship.

By supporting Outfit Moray we will be supporting young people in our community, besides raising awareness about the importance of outdoor education and conservation efforts.

Outfit Moray is a remarkable non-profit organisation based in Moray, Scotland, dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals, particularly young people, through outdoor activities.

Supporting our Schools

Outfit Moray have supported our local primary school in Hopeman, running a week of activities for the Primary 7s. Similarly, they frequently support many of the local primary schools in Moray with bikeability among other things.

With a belief in the transformative power of nature, Outfit Moray designs and delivers adventurous experiences. These range from rock climbing to kayaking, instilling confidence, resilience, and a deep appreciation for the natural world. Duffus Estate have an existing agreement with Outfit Moray to use the Estate grounds to run some of their activities. These include archery and crate-climbing by Duffus House.

Fun for all the family

At least 3 of our team have used Outfit Moray for our own children. Both our kids, Sam & Isla have benefitted from lots of events and activities. Jen’s girls loved going along to kayaking, paddleboarding and climbing. Gemma’s kids love their Outfit Moray days too. Jen and I had a great time learning about paddle safety with Outfit Moray at Hopeman Harbour with a group of like-minded mums a couple of years ago too.

Founded on the principles of inclusivity and accessibility, they ensure that their programs cater to diverse backgrounds and abilities, empowering everyone to participate and thrive. Through their unwavering commitment to outdoor education and personal development, Outfit Moray continues to inspire and enrich the lives of countless individuals, fostering a stronger connection between people and the great outdoors.

Volunteering, participating and winning!

‘Outfit Moray is close to Ed’s heart. He has supported Outfit Moray for years. He has sat on the board since 2015. As well as being on the board Ed volunteers as a first aider and marshal at events including the Cairngorm to Coast (30k run and 70k bike). In 2020, he took part and was thrilled to be first over the finish line.

We will be running fundraising throughout the year, which kickstarted with our Easter Trail. There is always the opportunity to purchase a ‘cup of kindness’ a.k.a. donate the price of a cup of coffee to our charity of the year when buying your own coffee at Kula.

Keep an eye on our events page for details of the latest fundraising.
